The permit to work system is a way of monitoring the
personnel that work in a particular area on a construction site.
In order for an individual to gain access to work in a particular
“dangerous” location within a construction site, they
must ask for and be approved for a permit to work.
Banyard's previous system used a mixture of Word 2000 and Outlook
2000 to automate this process but found a number of issues with
this method including problems with multi-user environments and scalability
of the solution. Creating a new product also gave Banyard Solutions the
oppurtunity to increase the functionality and scope of the application.
Banyard Solutions required a new streamlined system that would be
used simultaneously by 100's of users. The final product also
needed to be easy to use, self contained and easily maintained.
